Stage 1 — Strategic direction is the only stage in the platform that genuinely calls the AI to read free-form content. It takes a strategy document and turns it into actionable structure that feeds the rest of the stages.
The flow: upload → analyze → results
- Upload a document. Drag or pick a file — PDF, Excel, CSV, or text. Text is extracted from the file locally before anything is sent for analysis.
- Analyze. The extracted text is sent to the AI with a dedicated prompt that knows the workforce-planning context and your current org structure.
- Results. The AI returns structured output, displayed in these groups:
- Initiatives — the strategic programmes and projects extracted from the document.
- Objectives — the strategic goals those initiatives serve.
- Automation ambitions — the digitization / automation / تحول رقمي objectives found in the document, surfaced in their own card when present.
- Role overlap — detection of similar roles or unowned responsibilities.
Role-overlap detection
The most valuable output of this stage is the role-overlap map. The AI compares the roles and responsibilities described in your strategy document against your actual org structure, and flags two cases:
- Overlap — two roles or units that share similar responsibilities. A similarity score and a recommendation on how to merge or differentiate them are shown.
- Unowned — a responsibility the strategy mentions but no existing role owns. The recommendation here suggests who should own it.
Each item carries a written recommendation, so you don't just get a problem — you get the suggested next step too. You stay the decision-maker: accept, ignore, or adjust the recommendation.
Automation ambitions
Alongside initiatives and objectives, the AI also extracts the document's automation ambitions — its digitization and automation goals. These are not just displayed: they are carried into the gap stage, where they let the recommendation layer propose automating a routine, high-volume role instead of expanding it — a planned closure the closing report totals as a saving. When the strategy has no automation goals, the card simply doesn't appear.
What this stage feeds
The strategic-direction results set the frame the rest of the platform is read through — which roles map to which initiative, where organisational risk concentrates, and which routine work the automation ambitions target, before you start computing supply and demand.
