Your competencies

For employees

Your competencies page is the most-visited page in your portal after the dashboard. It shows your competency profile — the platform's current best estimate of what you can do — across every competency in your organisation's competency taxonomy.

Where to find it

/{slug}/me/competencies. Available from the navigation tabs in your portal.

What you see

A list of competencies, each with:

  • The competency name (in your preferred language).
  • A horizontal bar showing your current level on the four-level proficiency scale (Beginner, Developing, Proficient, Expert).
  • An optional gold marker showing the level your target role requires (drawn from your growth plan if a target is set).
  • A small badge if your current level is below the target.

The list is sorted with gapped competencies first (the competencies where you have a target above your current), then at-or-above competencies, then competencies with no target — so the list opens with what is actionable.

How the levels are computed

Your level on each competency is a weighted aggregate of every measurement made of you on that competency — assessments, interviews, technical ratings, screening signals. Newer measurements weigh more than older. Higher-fidelity measurements (like simulations) weigh more than lower-fidelity ones (like CV-derived self-reports).

The full mechanics live in How an assessment moves the competency profile and Fidelity and recency. The short version: the level reflects measurements; it is not editable directly.

Why a competency might not appear

Two reasons a competency from your taxonomy might not show on your list:

  • No measurement has been made of you on that competency. Until at least one assessment, interview, or rating has touched the competency, it does not appear in your profile.
  • The competency is archived in the taxonomy. Workspace administrators can archive competencies that are no longer in use; archived competencies do not appear on profiles.

If you expect a competency to be there and it is not, ask your line manager — they may need to assign an assessment that covers it.

Searching, filtering and sorting

A search box at the top filters the list to competencies whose name matches what you type.

You can also filter the list by:

  • All — every competency that has at least one measurement.
  • Has a gap — only competencies below their target level.
  • On track — competencies at or above their target.
  • No target — competencies with no required level set.

And sort by gap (largest gap first, the default), name (A–Z), or level (highest first).

Acting on a gap

Click any competency to open the evidence drawer, which shows where each level came from. From the drawer you can also:

  • Add this competency to your growth plan as a milestone.
  • See suggested learning that addresses this competency.
  • Request a new assessment — this sends a request to your line manager, who can assign one.

Mobile

On phone, the bar chart stays usable but the level scale shrinks. Tap a competency to open the evidence drawer; the drawer takes the full screen rather than overlaying.
